Petitioner is in custody for more than two years and five months. He submits there is delay in trial. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State submits report. 3.

We have considered the materials on record. From the report it appears last prosecution witness is scheduled to be examined in May, 2024. Allegations involve recovery of narcotics above commercial quantity i.e. 530 gms. of heroin. Trial is at its fag end.

Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

Trial court is requested to conclude the trial at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
