Petitioner(s) Mr. Arnab Chatterjee Ms. Debolina Roy Mr. Anisur Rahaman ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Rudradipta Nandy, APP Ms. Baishakhi Chatterjee ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than six months twenty five days and the alleged recovery in this case is 22.570 kg of ganja. According to the learned advocate, charges have been framed and witness action is about to commence. Learned advocate for the State submits that witness action is to commence on and from 7th March, 2026 and there are more than nine witnesses in this case. Having considered the same and the fact that there is no possibility of the trial concluding in the near future, I am inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Allowed.

Accordingly, the petitioner viz, Alimuddin Sk @ Ali shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/-(Rupees Twenty Thousand only), with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the learned Special Court (NDPS Act)-cum-learned Additional District & Sessions Judge, 5th Court at Murshidabad at Berhampore. If on bail, the petitioner shall make himself physically available on each and every date of the trial so fixed by the learned Special court and shall not leave the jurisdiction of the district of Murshidabad without prior permission of the learned Special Court.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 381 of 2026 is allowed. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
