The writ petitioners complain of inaction on the part of the Inspector-in-Charge, Barasat Police Station, North 24 Parganas.

It is submitted that the private respondents are the son and daughter-in-law of the petitioner, who are torturing him and have driven him out of his house. Admittedly, the flat in question stands in the name of the son. There is regular/ongoing discord between the petitioner's son and daughter-in-law.

The dispute between the parties is purely civil in nature, which does not call for any interference of the Barasat Police Station. However, the Officer-in-Charge, Barasat Police Station shall ensure that there is no breach of peace in the area and the parties do not come into conflict with each other.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
