In terms of the order dated 8th April, 2026, Inspector-inCharge, Asansol (South) Police Station has filed an affidavit which was affirmed on 17th April, 2026 and same is taken on record. Copy of the affidavit filed today is also made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner.

It is disclosed in the said affidavit that there are two criminal prosecutions pending against the petitioner, one is Asansol (South) P.S. Case No.402 of 2025 dated 11th December, 2025 and another is Asansol (North) P.S. Case No.40 of 2026 dated 19th January, 2026.

It is also averred in the affidavit in reference to information provided by the office of the Director General of Police, West Bengal that no other criminal prosecution is pending against the petitioner.

In view of disclosure of particulars of criminal prosecutions pending against the petitioner, no further order need be passed on this writ petition.
