The grievance of the petitioner pertains to failure of the respondent authorities to provide an electricity connection.

It is submitted on behalf of the CESC that this is a case of splitting of load and the petitioner has an alternative remedy under Clause 14 of the Regulation 53 of the West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission.

In view of the statutory alternative, efficacious remedy available to the petitioner, the petitioner is directed to make a representation before the Grievance Redressal Officer within two weeks from date. If such representation is made, the Grievance Redressal Officer is directed to consider and dispose of the said representation within four weeks from the receipt of such representation after giving a right of hearing to all the parties and passing a reasoned order.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA 5215 of 2021 is disposed off. There shall be no order as to costs. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
