1. Affidavit of service filed today be kept on record.

2. Learned counsel for the writ petitioners submits that both the petitioners are septuagenarians and are waiting since 2023 for disposal of their challenge before the learned Tribunal, bearing O.A 2545 of 2023 (LRTT).

3. It is further pointed out by learned counsel for the petitioners that the matter has next been fixed by the Tribunal on August 31, 2026 vide order dated December 15, 2025. It is submitted that such long dates amount to undue protraction of the litigation, which operates adversely against the petitioners, particularly keeping in view the advanced years of the petitioners. Moreover, it is submitted that the records have already arrived before the Tribunal and the pleadings of the parties are complete.

4. Learned Senior Government Advocate submits that the private respondents have not been appearing before the Tribunal, for which the delay partially occurred.

5. Having carefully considered the submissions of the parties, this Court is of the opinion that, particularly due to the advanced age of the petitioners as well as due to the long pendency of the matter, also keeping in view that the pleadings are already complete, the learned Tribunal ought to decide the Original Application as expeditiously as possible.

6. In view of the innocuous nature of the order proposed to be passed, further service of notice on the private respondents is dispensed with.

7. WPLRT 36 of 2026 is accordingly disposed of by requesting the Second Bench, West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal, to dispose of O.A 2545 of 2023 (LRTT) pending before it as expeditiously as possible, positively within six months from the date of communication of this order to the Tribunal.

8. In order to implement the above order, the learned Tribunal shall be at liberty to shift back the next date fixed by it to an earlier date, upon notice to both sides.

9. For the purpose of compliance, the learned Tribunal and all concerned shall act on a server copy of this judgment without insisting upon prior production of a certified copy. 10.

There will be no order as to costs.
