Kutubuddin ...for the State This is an application seeking an expeditious disposal of a protest petition filed by the de facto complainant. Let a copy of this application be served upon Mr. Debobrata Chatterjee learned counsel with Md. Kutubuddin, learned counsel who ordinarily appear on behalf of the State. They are requested to appear in this matter. Their engagement may be regularised by the competent authority of the State in due course. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner lodged an F.I.R. in September 2018. But, a charge sheet was filed only against two out of the ten accused mentioned in the F.I.R. The charges were also significantly scaled down. Being aggrieved, the petitioner filed a protest petition in 2020 and the same has remained pending for no fault on the part of the present petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that it is not clear exactly on which date the Naraji petition was

filed. In any event, several adjournments had to be granted to the de facto complainant for filing the Naraji petition. I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the parties and have perused the revision petition.

It appears that on several dates adjournments were granted to enable the de facto complainant to file a Naraji petition. Even on 06.02.2021, the date fixed for filing of Naraji, an adjournment was prayed for on behalf of the de facto complainant. Therefore, I do not find this to be a fit case to expedite the proceeding at the behest of the present petitioner. However, it is expected that the learned Trial Court would conclude the proceeding as expeditiously as possible and deal with the protest petition, if any, filed on behalf of the petitioner at the earliest.

With these observations, the revisional application with connected application is disposed of.
