Ashik Iquebal Mr. Rameshwar Sinha ...for the Petitioner The petitioner herein is aggrieved with the order dated 13.1.2026 passed in connection with the Sessions case no. 620 of 2023 and prayed for a direction upon the court below for expeditious disposal of the said criminal proceeding. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner, it appears that the evidence of first two witnesses were recorded on 13th January, 2026 and thereafter, the court below has fixed 20th June, 2026, 22nd June, 2026 and 23rd June, 2026 for examination of charge-sheet mentioned witness nos. 3 to 8. The prosecution proposes to examine in all 22 witnesses and therefore a direction may be passed for taking necessary steps for early disposal of the said proceeding.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner, it appears that the prayer made by the petitioner is innocuous and if it is allowed in terms of the prayer made therein, the opposite parties will have no cause to prejudice and as such, the service of copy of application upon the opposite parties is hereby dispensed with.

In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances of this case, it appears that the prayer made by the petitioner is

justified, the instant application being CRR 926 of 2026 is hereby disposed of with a direction upon the court below to make every endeavour for fixing date for conducting trial at least twice in every month and to make his best effort to conclude the trial preferably within a period of ten months from the next date of hearing, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

This order is passed invoking this court's jurisdiction under Section 529 of the BNSS.
