The petitioner has filed the present public interest litigation questioning the appointment of the private respondent as Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in History at Krishnanagar Women's College, Nadia on the ground that the private respondent did not fulfil the requisite minimum eligibility qualification.

Learned counsel appearing for the private respondent has submitted that the respondent fulfils all the eligibility criteria and she had obtained the M.Phil Degree also in 2006 and after due selection through the PSC the appointment was made in the year 2008. Be that as it may, since no one is present on behalf of the petitioner to prosecute this petition, hence, the petition is dismissed for want of prosecution. (Prakash Shrivastava, C.J.)
