Petitioners' grievance in the writ petition relates mutate their names in respect of the plot of land inherited by them through their father. In view of the provisions contained in Section 2(r) read with Sections 6 and 8 of the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997, the remedy of the petitioner to ventilate his grievance made out in this case lies in approaching the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997.

In view of the above, the writ petition being W.P.A. 3568 of 2020 stands dismissed on the ground of lack of jurisdiction.

If the petitioners file the appropriate application before the West Bengal Land Reforms Tribunal within January 8, 2021, the same shall be disposed of within the month of January, 2021.
