Parna Ghosh Mr. Sabyasachi Mukherjee Mr. Ranabeer Halder ... for the petitioner This is an application wherein petitioner has prayed for a direction upon the court below for expeditious disposal of the hearing of the proceeding being Complaint Case No. 291 of 2020 pending before learned Judicial Magistrate, 4th Court, Barrackpore.

Being aggrieved by the abnormal delay caused in disposal of the aforesaid proceeding learned counsel for the petitioner submits that till date only cross-examination of PW-1 has been completed and the opposite party herein is taking unnecessary adjournments, which are being allowed by the court below casually. Therefore he sought for necessary direction. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner, and that the prayer made by the petitioner is innocuous and, if it is allowed in terms of the prayer made in the petition, the opposite party will have no cause to prejudice and as such, service of copy of application upon the opposite party is dispensed with. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and that the prayer made on behalf of the petitioner is justified, in terms of long pendency of the case, the instant application being CRR 927 of 2025 is hereby disposed of with a direction upon the Court below to make every endeavour for expeditious disposal of the

aforesaid Complaint Case No. 291 of 2020 and to make his best effort to conclude the trial preferably within a period of six months from the next date of hearing.

This order is passed invoking this court's jurisdiction under section 529 of the BNSS.
