The petitioner prays for an order for grant of a saw mill licence.

provisional certificate for enlistment of trade for the year 2015-16 was given to M/s Aziz Saw Mill. Thereafter, there was no extension. The law has since been amended. Whether there is any scope for grant of saw mill licence under the present legal framework, is required to be answered. The petitioner is unable to satisfy the court with any legal provision.

Under such circumstances, the writ petition does not call for any interference.

It appears that the petitioner has applied for grant of licence under Section 116 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, which is pending. The petitioner has also approached the Assistant Divisional Forest

Officer, South 24 Parganas, Alipur with his prayer for grant of a saw mill licence.

The Assistant Divisional Forest Officer, South 24 Parganas Alipur shall dispose of the said representation of the petitioner, in accordance with law and intimate the petitioner the fate of such representation within two months from the date of communication of this order.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties are to act on the basis of server copy of this order.
