The petitioner disputes the electricity bills issued by the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Limited (CESC) for the months of December 2024 and January 2025.

It is admitted that the petitioner has already submitted a representation in this regard before the Grievance Redressal Officer, CESC Limited, South Regional Office, who is respondent no. 3 in the present writ petition.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of CESC Limited submits that the said representation may be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon respondent no. 3 to consider the petitioner's representation, appearing at page 12 of the writ petition, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of one month from the date of

communication of this order. The Grievance Redressal Officer shall dispose of the same after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as to the representatives of CESC Limited.

It is further directed that the electricity connection to the petitioner's premises shall not be disconnected for a period of two months from the date of this order or until a decision is rendered by the Grievance Redressal Officer, whichever is earlier.

Accordingly, WPA 4647 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
