The present application for cancellation of bail was filed in connection with Serampore Police Station Case No. 278 of 2006 dated 27.12.2006.

Record reflects that the opposite party was granted bail by the learned Sessions Judge, Hooghly on 22.01.2007. Mrs. Sujata Das, learned advocate who ordinarily appears for the State is directed to appear in this matter. Her appointment may be regularized by the concerned authorities in due course. In view of the passage of time which has elapsed in the meantime and which is more than 14 years, I am of the opinion that no interference is called for by this court at this belated stage. Accordingly, the present application for cancellation of bail being CRM 1535 of 2007 is dismissed.
