Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than 570 days without the possibility of the trial commencing any time soon. Learned Public Prosecutor submits that prayer for bail was rejected twice. Some of the accuseds are absconding and, therefore, trial cannot proceed.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein and considering the fact that there is hardly any material change in circumstances subsequent to the earlier order of rejection, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. CRM (DB) 708 of 2022 is dismissed.
