Petitioner is aggrieved regarding the manner in which Bidhannagar (South) Police Station Case No.

271/2023 dated 14.10.2023 has been progressing. I find from the records that the said case was for extortion and forgery. More than one and a half years have passed since the case has been registered for investigation.

Accordingly, I direct that in case charge sheet has been submitted before the jurisdictional court and the petitioner is aggrieved regarding the outcome, petitioner would be at liberty to take out any application in the nature of Section 173(8) of Cr.P.C.

If the charge sheet has not been submitted after such a long duration, petitioner will file an application before the learned ACJM, Bidhannagar for a report in respect of the progress of the investigation so conducted by the police authorities.

The Bidhannagar (South) Police Station is further directed to take steps that no inconvenience is caused to the petitioner in respect of the issues relating to the allegations of nuisance in the nature of garbage being thrown and life being made miserable at the hands of the private respondents which has been alleged in the writ petition. To that effect, police authorities would depute a lady constable and if required direct the municipal authorities to take steps in accordance with law. With the aforesaid observations WPA 4849 of 2024 is disposed of.
