Petitioner complains that she is unable to meet with her parents after registration of Shyampur PS Case No. 33 of 2025. Further grievance of the petitioner is that she is being threatened at the behest of the accused persons who are roaming freely.

Learned advocate for the State has submitted a report. I have considered the same. Shyampur PS Case No. 33/25 has been registered under the relevant provisions of the BNS, 2023 as well as SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The case is being investigated by a Superior Officer of Police in the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Enforcement Branch, Howrah Rural District. The report reflects that in spite of informing the petitioner for her statement to be recorded under section 183 BNS she was not available.

Be that as it may, the investigation has commenced only on 16.01.2025, not even 60 days have expired since then, petitioner, if she is facing any difficulties, would directly meet the Investigating Officer of the case who happens to be a Superior Officer of Police. The concerned Officer would address the grievance of the petitioner, if required, provide necessary protection. But the petitioner should extent all cooperation so that the investigation of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. With the aforesaid observations WPA 4694 of 2025 is disposed of.
