Parties are represented by their learned advocate, names of whom are shown at the beginning of this order sheet. The Court is approached under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure soliciting a direction to ensure expeditious disposal of a pending NDPS case of Learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, 6th Court Barasat, North 24 Parganas in N.D.P.S. Case No.188 of 2018 under Section 21(C)/29 of the NDPS Act. Having considered the submissions of learned advocate for the petitioner transpiring that the petitioner is in custody for the alleged recovery of contraband, above the commercial quantity, requiring expeditious disposal and the submission raised by the learned State advocate revealing the progress of the case, the Court is of the view that the instant revisional application may be disposed of, so as to subserve the purpose of justice, as proposed to be obtained, giving a direction mentioned as thereunder.

Learned Court below is directed to ensure expeditious disposal of the pending case making effective utilisation of the dates

so far fixed and, if necessary, upon resorting to steps available under Section 309 Cr.P.C. so that logical conclusion of this case may be reached within a reasonable time.

With these observations and directions, the revisional application is disposed of.
