Petitioner(s) Mr. Navanil De Mr. Srinjan Ghosh ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Anand Keshari Mr. Asif Dewan ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than eight months and has been implicated because of alleged recovery of 26.8 kg of ganja.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that charge-sheet has been submitted and dates have been fixed for consideration of charges. Having perused the records which reflect that the prosecution has cited 14 witnesses in order to prove of its case and there is no possibility of the trial concluding in the near future, I am of the view that further detention of the present petitioner is unwarranted.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Allowed.

Accordingly, the petitioner viz, Manirul Islam @ Manirul Sk.@ Monirul Islam @ Monirul Sk. shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/-(Rupees Twenty Thousand only), with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the learned Judge, Special Court under (NDPS Act), Suri Birbhum.

If on bail, the petitioner shall make himself physically available on each and every date of the trial so fixed by the learned Special court and shall not leave the jurisdiction of the district of Birbhum without prior permission of the learned Special Court.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 392 of 2026 is allowed. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
