This is an application seeking an expeditious disposal of a proceeding in which a charge sheet was submitted, inter alia, under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows. The present petitioners are the accused in this case. They are in custody since May, 2015 in connection with the present trial. An FIR was lodged in this case on 04.05.2015. Thereafter, the charge sheet was submitted. In fact, after framing of charges, the witness action has been completed. Yet, the matter is pending at the stage of arguments since September, 2021. The present proceeding has remained pending for no fault of the present petitioners.

Learned Public Prosecutor representing the State submits that the State would not come in the way if a direction is passed to expedite the proceeding.

I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the petitioners and the State and have perused the revision petition.

It is unfortunate that the present proceeding is pending since 2015. The petitioners are facing custody trial for such a long

time.

In view of the above and in the interest of justice, the learned Court is requested to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties, preferably within a period of four months from the next date of hearing.

With the above observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
