It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he is the husband of the victim and is in custody for 294 days. He was not at home when the victim caught fire and on his return, tried to save the victim for which he also sustained burn injuries. However, no document has been produced in support of such contention by the learned advocate for the petitioner.

The State refers to the case diary. The victim suffered more than 90% burn and has specifically implicated the petitioner in her statement allegedly given to the attending doctor and recorded by her relative.

We have perused the material in the case diary. There is prima facie material implicating the petitioner in the alleged incident. It is submitted that charge sheet has been filed.

Considering the material in the case diary as well as nature and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant him bail, at this stage.

Accordingly, CRM 2042 of 2021 is dismissed.
