It appears that in an earlier round of litigation, namely WPA 19771 of 2024 (Hemanta Paira vs. State), a Coordinate Bench of this Court directed that the dispute between the petitioner and certain adjoining landowners be referred to the concerned District Magistrate for adjudication.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited submits that the matter is currently pending before the District Magistrate.

In view of the above, this Court is not inclined to entertain the present writ petition at this stage. However, it is directed that the concerned District Magistrate shall dispose of the matter as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of this order.

Accordingly, WPA 4829 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
