Hossain, Ms. Keya Sutradhar ...for the Petitioner Mr. Debanjan Mukherjee ...for CESC Mr. Susanta Pal, Ms. Ananya Neogi ...for the State 05-05-2025 AKG Ct. 15 Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the petitioner has already instructed the learned counsel representing her before the Consumer Forum to withdraw the pending complaint concerning the same subject matter.

The petitioner undertakes before this Court to withdraw the said complaint pending before the Consumer Forum by filing application for withdrawal on the next date of hearing, i.e., June 5, 2025.

Despite service of notice, the private respondents remain unrepresented.

The petitioner seeks a separate electricity connection for her premises.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Limited (CESC) does not oppose the prayer. It is submitted that a loop meter will be installed at the location of the existing meter board in order to

effectuate the electricity connection. It is argued that although the petitioner had approached the Consumer Forum seeking certain reliefs, the pendency of that complaint-wherein partial relief had been granted-has resulted in the CESC withholding the electricity connection. Additionally, it is submitted that resistance from the private respondents has also impeded the execution of the connection.

In light of the submissions made by the parties before this Court, there is no justification for keeping the present writ petition pending. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the CESC to provide the electricity connection within a period of three weeks from the date of this order, subject to the petitioner's compliance with any additional formalities that may be required. The Officer-in-Charge of Parnashree Police Station is directed to extend necessary assistance to the officials of the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation Limited, at the cost of the petitioner, for implementation of this order. Accordingly, WPA 4789 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
