Exception submitted by the petitioner to the report submitted by the respondents is taken on record. Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The grievance of the petitioner is that her permit was not counter-signed by the State Transport Authority, West Bengal, though it was renewed by the STA, Jharkhand.

Instructions submitted on behalf of the respondents demonstrates that the application of the petitioner has been kept in abeyance since the petitioner has failed to produce the tax receipts showing payment of tax from 1st April, 2012 to 30th November, 2016. The petitioner has submitted copies of challans which demonstrate that the petitioner has paid tax for the period 1st April, 2012 to 10th June, 2012 and 13th August, 2016 to 30th November,

2016. The receipts for the remaining period are not on record.

The petitioner seeks liberty to produce all the tax receipts for the period in question before the concerned authority within one month from date.

In the event the petitioner fails to trace out the tax receipts for the relevant period, she is at liberty to approach the concerned authority/taxing officer to ascertain whether the relevant tax were actually paid. The Secretary, STA, West Bengal, being the 4th respondent herein, is directed to consider and dispose of the application made by the petitioner for countersignature of the permit within one month from the date of production of the relevant documents/tax receipts by the petitioner.

Since nothing further remains to the adjudicated in the writ petition, the same is disposed of.

However, there shall be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to be admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
