The petitioner has assailed the orders dated 31st August, 2023, 2nd May, 2024 and 22nd January, 2025 passed by the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tamluk in connection with GR 541 of 2015 directing issuance of warrant of arrest against him.

The petitioner was on bail in connection with the present case. He was in custody from 16th December, 2017 to 16th October, 2024 in connection with several other criminal cases filed against him. The petitioner was unable to appear before the learned trial Court on 31st August, 2023 since he was in custody on the said date. The warrant of arrest was issued against him by the learned trial Court on 31st August, 2023.

The petitioner undertakes to surrender before the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tamluk within a fortnight from date. If the petitioner surrenders before the learned Magistrate within a fortnight from date, he shall be allowed to remain on the same bond.

In the event the petitioner fails to surrender before the learned Magistrate within the stipulated time frame, the learned Magistrate shall be at liberty to take necessary steps against the petitioner in accordance with law without further reference to this Court. Warrant of arrest issued against the petitioner be stayed till 20th March, 2025.

CRR 949 of 2025 is disposed of.
