And In the matter of : Suvadip Singha @ Subhadip Sinha ...... petitioner Mr. Kunal Ganguly, Mr. Kaustav Banerjee ....for the petitioner Mr. Ashok Das ....for the State Petitioner prays for anticipatory bail.

Statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the de facto complainant implicates the petitioner, who is her husband in mentally and physically torturing her. Police complaint was lodged within 1 and 1⁄2 years of marriage.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

This application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. CRM(A) 674 of 2024 is disposed of.
