The charge is under Section 21(c) of the NDPS Act, 1985. Recovery of commercial quantity of contraband was made from the possession of the petitioner on November 30, 2019. We are told that the charge-sheet was submitted without chemical report on May 14, 2020. The chemical report was obtained on November 2, 2020 and supplementary charge-sheet was submitted on November 9, 2020. August 25, 2021 is fixed for framing of charge. We have heard learned counsel for the parties. Considering the material in the case diary and the gravity and nature of the offence as also the bar provided in Section 37 of the NDPS Act, we are not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail, at this stage. CRM 2066 of 2021 is dismissed.

However, we request the trial court to expedite the trial and conclude the same as soon as possible and preferably within a period of one year from August 25, 2021 when the charges are due to be framed.

The Registry is directed to send a copy of this order to the learned court below immediately.
