However, the petitioner has failed to produce any document demonstrating that an application for such a connection was submitted.

The learned advocate appearing on behalf of WBSEDCL also submits that no application for a new connection has ever been made by the petitioner. In view of the above, this writ petition is not entertained. It is, however, clarified that in the event the petitioner submits an application for an electricity connection in respect of the premises concerned, the competent authority of WBSEDCL shall consider the same in accordance with law.

Accordingly, WPA 5103 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
