Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

The grievance of the petitioner is in spite of the complaint was lodged on 12th November, 2025 alleging threat and assault by the additional respondents no effective steps were taken by the concerned police authorities excepting registering FIR.

Petitioner prays for direction upon the concerned police authorities to take steps based on the complaint lodged on 12th November, 2025 and provide police protection to him.

State respondents and respondent nos. 8 to 11 are represented by learned advocates who have disputed the submission made on behalf of the petitioner.

On behalf of the State respondents a communication of Officer-in-Charge Khanakul

Police Station, Hooghly is placed before this Court and same is taken on record. Copy of the communication is made over to the learned advocates representing the petitioner and respondent nos.8 to 11.

It is disclosed in the communication filed on behalf of the State respondents that after complaint was lodged on 12th November, 2025 same was transformed into an FIR and Khanakul PS case no. 756 of 2025 dated 12th November, 2025 under certain provisions of BNS was initiated.

Investigating officer recorded statement of witnesses, issued notice to the complainant for production of documents in support of his complaint, seized offending articles and collected medical documents and report from hospital.

It is also disclosed therein that the accused persons surrendered before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Arambagh, Hooghly and were released on bail.

On concluding the investigation, investigating officer submitted charge-sheet being no.639/2025 dated 30th November, 2025 against the accused persons.

10. In view of the steps taken by the police as disclosed in the communication which is filed today it ought not to be deduced that police authorities did not take steps after the complaint was filed by the

petitioner.

11. Since charge-sheet has already been filed no further order need be passed on this writ petition excepting a direction upon the concerned police authorities to maintain peace and tranquility at the locale and keep vigil.

12. The writ petition stands disposed of.

13. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
