The grievance of the petitioner is that respondent nos. 7 and 8 have undertaken unauthorised construction by filling up a plot classified as a "DOBA." Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has drawn the attention of this Court to page 13 of the writ petition to suggest that the Block Land & Land Reforms Officer, Deganga, North 24 Parganas, has already issued a notice, inter alia, to respondent nos. 7 and 8, directing them to restore the water body.

It is further submitted that respondent nos. 7 and 8 continue with the construction in defiance of the notice issued by the concerned Block Land & Land Reforms Officer.

It appears that the petitioner approached this Court while the construction was still in progress. The writ petition was preceded by a representation dated 2 July 2025 submitted by the petitioner to the Pradhan, Deganga

I Gram Panchayat, requesting necessary action. In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Pradhan, Deganga I Gram Panchayat, to take appropriate steps under Section 23(5) of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, in respect of the representation dated 7 February 2025, appearing at page 15 of the writ petition, within a period of two weeks from the date of communication of this order.

Accordingly, WPA 4810 of 2025 stands disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
