The grievance of the petitioners is that their lands although have been acquired in L.A. Case No. 4/29/2012-13, but no compensation has been awarded to them in spite of repeated demands. Mr. Tapas Kumar Bhattacharya, learned advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioners informs this Court that after service of notice of the present writ petition his clients have received a notice from the Additional Land Acquisition Officer (Aayla) of District 24 Parganas (South), whereby it has been informed to his clients that they are required to contact the said authority with the relevant papers and documents for processing their claim of compensation.

In view of such development of the matter W.P.A. 5435 of 2021 is disposed of by directing the concerned authority to expedite the disbursement of the compensation in favour of the petitioners.

Since no affidavit-in-opposition has been invited the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.

No order as to costs.
