Ganguly ..for the respdts.8&9 The petitioners complain of inaction on the part of the police authorities. It is alleged that the Inspector-in-Charge, Canning Police Station has not taken any steps despite repeated requests by the Block Land & Land Reforms Officer, Canning-I. The Block Land & Land Reforms Officer, Canning-I requested the Inspector-in-Charge, Canning Police Station by a letter dated November 4, 2020 to ensure that the respondent nos. 6 to 9 illegally cause any alteration to the nature, character and mode of user of the pond.

The learned advocate for the respondent nos.8&9 submits that the said respondents are not involved in the alleged offences complained of. The police authorities have filed a report, from which it appears that pursuant to the request of the Block Land & Land Reforms Officer, Canning -I, Canning Police Station Case No. 671 of 2020 dated November 18, 2020 under Section 4D of the West

Bengal Land Reforms Act had been registered. The investigation was completed and a charge sheet has been filed against Sushanta Acharya and Saiket Acharya, the respondent nos. 6&7, being charge sheet no. 667/2020 dated November 30, 2020.

Under such circumstances, this Court is of the view that the grievances of the petitioners have been met.

The police report is taken on record.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
