1) Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioners is taken on record.

2) Matter is heard in presence of learned advocates representing the petitioners, State respondents and respondent nos. 4 to 6.

3) It is alleged on behalf of the petitioners that petitioners are mother and sister of respondent no. 4 who are threatened by respondent no. 4 and his wife being respondent no. 5. It is also submitted that CCTV cameras are installed at various parts of the house where petitioners and respondent nos. 4 and 5 reside. Petitioners pray for direction upon the concerned police authority for providing police protection.

4) Learned advocate representing the State respondents has filed a report dated 5th March, 2026 prepared by Inspector-in-Charge of Baguiati Police Station, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate and same is taken on record. Copies of the report are made over to learned advocates representing the petitioners and private respondents.

5) On perusal of said report, it appears that dispute is private in nature which is in between mother and sister at one side and son and his wife on the other side. However, it is further disclosed in the report that to maintain peace and tranquility at the premises in question steps have been taken under section 126 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita against respondent nos. 4 and 5.

6) Considering dispute in between the petitioners and respondent nos. 4 and 5 which is private in nature, at this stage Court finds no direction is warranted on this writ petition.

7) Hence, writ petition stands dismissed.

8) However, if situation demands concerned police authority shall take steps in accordance with law to maintain peace and tranquility at the premises in question.

9) Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertaking.
