The grievance of the petitioner is directed against inaction of the CESC Limited in providing an electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner.

Pursuant to directions of Court, the CESC Limited has filed a Report. It appears from the report that the petitioner is residing in a room and is already enjoying an electricity connection standing in the name of the third party. In such circumstances, it is submitted on behalf of the CESC Limited that this is a case of splitting of load and the Appropriate Authority to decide the same is the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO).

In view of the above, WPA 4916 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the petitioner to approach the concerned GRO in accordance with law. If any such application is filed, the same shall be disposed of within a period of six weeks from the communication of this order.
