It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the impugned bill is grossly disproportionate and incorrect.
On behalf of WBSEDCL, it is submitted that the petitioner is in the habit of making delayed payments. By a bill dated 4th March 2025, there was an outstanding amount of Rs.4,23,570/- for which the petitioner voluntarily made a part payment of Rs.1,99,999/- only on 5 March, 2025, which was duly accepted and recorded in the system of the respondent WBSEDCL. The exact dues payable by the petitioner as on date are Rs.3,62,236/-, which include an amount of Rs.1,16,668/- on account of Late Payment Surcharge.
In view of the disputes raised by the petitioner, WPA 4911 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) to consider the grievance of the petitioner and after giving right of hearing to both the parties. Let such exercise be completed within a period of four weeks from date.
It is made clear that there has been no expression on the merits of the case and all issues are left open to be decided by the concerned GRO in accordance with law.
