Despite service, none appears on behalf of the respondent Nos.9 to 16. Affidavit-of-service is taken on record.

Pursuant to the complaint filed by the petitioners, Tehatta PS Case No.133 of 2022 under Sections 447/427/34 of the Indian Penal Code was registered. The investigation is under progress. The allegation is with regard to the alleged threat of dispossession from the lands of the petitioners. The petitioners submit that 'pattas' were issued in respect of the said lands in favour of the petitioners, but the respondent Nos.8 to 16 interfered with the cultivation and tried to dispossess them. As the police authorities have already registered an FIR and investigation is under progress, the said

investigation must be reached to its logical conclusion and during the course of investigation, the police authorities shall keep a sharp vigil and ensure that no further untoward incident takes place. The other remedies before the civil court, are kept open.

The writ petition is, thus, disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
