A report is filed today by learned counsel for the CESC Limited. Let it be kept on record.

It transpires that two options have been given to give electricity connection to the petitioner as per the petitioner's prayer.

The preferred option of the CESC Limited as well as the private respondents is option (a) which suggests that a new connection be given by installing a loop meter at the service position which is located under the stair case of the said building and the petitioner should comply with the necessary formalities. 4.

The other option is shifting of the meters, which might put all concerned to inconvenience.

Hence, there is no reason why option (a) given by the CESC Limited should not be adopted.

Accordingly, WPA 5035 of 2024 is disposed of by directing the CESC Limited to give a new metered electricity connection to the petitioner by installing a loop meter at the existing service position located under the staircase of the subject building, subject to compliance of all formalities in that regard by the petitioner, within a fortnight from the date of compliance of such formalities.

In the event any objection is raised from any corner in doing so, it will be open to the CESC personnel to approach the respondent no.4, the Officer-inCharge of the Entally Police Station, who will act on the server copy of this order and give such assistance at the cost of the petitioner, if necessary removing any padlock or other hindrance to do so. 8.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
