Petitioner has prayed for expeditious disposal of Dum Dum Police Station Case No.86 of 2014 dated 31.01.2014 wherein the Investigating Authority submitted charge-sheet and the case is pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 4th Court, Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas.

As more than 10 years have passed and till date no witness has been examined, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissionerate-in-Charge of Dum Dum Police Station would take steps for informing the witnesses to be available on and from the next date so fixed for hearing before the learned Magistrate. In case any witness is absent or is not available, report should be submitted from the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police-inCharge, Dum Dum Police Station. The Inspector-in-Charge/Officerin-Charge of Dum Dum Police Station will act as a Nodal Officer of the case and would assist the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissionerate-in-Charge of the said police station. All efforts

must be shown before the learned Magistrate that the witnesses have been approached and they are made available on the date so fixed by the learned trial court. Learned trial court would fix two dates in a month for the purpose of the present case. It has been informed that there are nine witnesses to be examined.

Efforts be taken to conclude the prosecution witnesses by 31st December, 2024.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 778 of 2024 is disposed of.

Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
