Mr. Manas Kumar Das Mr. Aritra Kumar Thokdar ... for the petitioner Mr. Sumit Roy ... for the WBSEDCL Affidavit-in-opposition is not in the file. A photocopy of such affidavit-in-opposition has been filed by the learned counsel appearing for the WBSEDCL in Court today which is taken on record.

The petitioner has prayed for a direction upon the authorities of the WBSEDCL to pay compensation on account of death of the husband of the writ petitioner. The husband of the writ petitioner died on 30.08.2008 on account of electrocution. The petitioner applied for compensation. It is not in dispute that the compensation of Rs. 50,000/- was paid to the writ petitioner on 29.09.2011. It is also not in dispute that the compensation was paid at the rate that was prevailing at the relevant point of time.

In view thereof, no further relief can be granted in favour of the writ petitioner.

In the result, the writ petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid observations however without any order as to costs.

Urgent certified photostat copy of this order, if applied for, shall be given to the parties as expeditiously as possible on compliance of all necessary formalities. (Hiranmay Bhattacharyya, J.)
