The petitioner seeks interest on account of delayed payment of his terminal dues. He retired from service on 28th February, 2021 and e-PPO was issued in his favour on 8th January, 2022.

From the report forwarded by the District Inspector of Schools (Primary Education), Nadia, it appears that the petitioner received his first SMS regarding submission of Part A and Part B on 3rd March, 2020 but he actually applied online on 12th December, 2020 and submitted hard copy of Part A and Part B on 14th December, 2020. Because of delayed submission of the necessary details, there was delay in issuance of the e-PPO.

The Court is not convinced with the submission made on behalf of the petitioner explaining the delay in filing the necessary documents.

In view of the above, the prayer for interest cannot be allowed.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
