The petitioner claims to be a disabled son of a deceased employee who was working in Walsh (S.D.) Hospital, Serampore, Hooghly. On the death of the employee, family pension was enjoyed by his widow, who was the mother of the petitioner. The widow of the employee expired on August 28, 2016. The petitioner prays for grant of family pension on account of his disability. Representation made by the petitioner in June 2025 before the Superintendent of the subject hospital seeking family pension is alleged to be pending consideration.

Learned counsel for the respondents has obtained instruction from the Superintendent of the hospital dated April 8, 2026 which mentions that the application of the petitioner seeking release of family pension was received by the office without any supporting documents. In the absence of the documents, the prayer of the petitioner seeking family pension on disability ground could not be processed. A Unique Disability ID through online portal is required to be furnished for processing

the claim for family pension on disability ground. 3.

Upon hearing the respective submissions made by both the parties and on perusal of the documents placed before this Court, the instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the petitioner to forward all necessary documents in support of his prayer for grant of family pension including the Unique Disability ID to the authority for processing his claim.

Once all the required documents from the petitioner are received, the authority shall consider the prayer of the petitioner in accordance with law at the earliest, but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of all documents.

The Superintendent of the hospital is directed to intimate the petitioner the relevant documents which he is required to furnish for processing his claim.

Affidavit of service filed in Court be taken on record.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties.
