Petitioner is in custody for three months. He contends no narcotics was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State submits report. She submits petitioner had made a disclosure statement leading to the recovery of a truck bearing registration No.WB 61B 6957. Large volume of phensydel syrup was recovered from the said truck.

We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner has criminal antecedents. A number of cases had been registered against him in Tripura with regard to dealing in drugs. As a result, he was arrested. On interrogation, he revealed the particulars of the vehicle wherein narcotics was kept. Pursuant to the statement, a truck bearing No.WB 61B 6957 containing 24,900 bottles of phensedyl syrup containing

codeine phosphate above commercial quantity were recovered. The aforesaid materials show involvement of the petitioner in an inter-State racket of illegal dealing in drugs. 4.

Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
