1. The petitioners' grievance is that there are frequent accidents in a particular area in NH-41 crossing due to encroachment of the corners. In this regard mass petitions have been given to the authorities, more particularly the authorities of the National Highways Authority of India and since no action had been initiated on those representations, this writ petition has been filed.

2. We have heard the learned advocates appearing for the respondents.

3. Since we are disposing of this writ petition without calling for affidavits, the merits of the allegations are not gone into and there shall be a direction to the 3rd respondent/Project Director, National Highways Authority of India, Kolkata to consider the representations given by the petitioners and take

appropriate action in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of server copy of this order.

4. Petitioners are directed to appear in person before the 3rd respondent and furnish copies of the representations along with the copy of this order to enable the 3rd respondent to comply the above directions.

5. No costs.

6. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties expeditiously upon compliance of all legal formalities.
