1. Status report filed by the State be kept with the records.

2. It appears that the petitioner is in custody for a long period of time, i.e., about 9 (nine) years and 8 (eight) months. However, we find that there is sufficient material implicating him in the alleged offence of committing murder of two elderly persons. The offending weapon, part of the alleged booty and other materials were seized pursuant to statements made by the petitioner. If convicted, the petitioner will have to undergo mandatory life imprisonment.

3. We also note from the report that the State says that it will conclude the trial within a month.

4. In view of the incriminating material against the petitioner and the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer for bail, at this stage.

5. The prayer for bail is, thus, rejected.

6. CRM (DB) 793 of 2025 is disposed of.

7. However, in view of the statement made in the report of the State that the trial should be concluded within one month, we direct the learned trial court to expedite the trial to the utmost and conclude the same as soon as possible.

8. If the trial is not concluded within a month from the date of the communication of this order to the learned trial court, the petitioner may renew his prayer for bail.

9. All parties shall act on the server copies of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 10.

Criminal Section is directed to supply certified copies of this order to the parties, if applied for, upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
