Counsel for the petitioners complains of alleged inaction on the part of the Barrackpore Police Station in dealing with the private respondents. The father of the private respondent nos. 6 and 7, original tenant, has expired. The private respondents claim to be in possession of the property since tenancy is heritable. Ejectment Suit No. 224 of 2018 is pending before the learned Civil Judge (Junior Division), Sealdah filed by the petitioners against the private respondent nos. 6 and 7.

This Court finds that the dispute is purely civil in nature. Police have no role to play in the matter. The petitioners may avail civil remedies as may be available to him in law and/or as already availed. The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
