The petitioner applied for the post of a teacher in primary school claiming that she is physically handicapped (visually handicapped of 46%).

This court sent the case i.e., the physical disability certificate to the office of the Director of Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Medical College and Hospital Campus and directed the petitioner to appear before the said authority for eye examination. After examining, the Medical Board has opined that her disability is of 0%. A copy of the report would be given by my officer to the appearing parties in course of the day.

As the impairment is 0%, the petitioner cannot be considered for the post under physically handicapped category.

Therefore, the writ application is dismissed. (Abhijit Gangopadhyay, J.)
