The petitioner is an Assistant Teacher of Barakumarda Junior High School, District: Purba Medinipur.

The petitioner is complaining that though he has enhanced his qualification in the relevant subject after obtaining prior permission of the concerned District Inspector of Schools but till date, his scale of pay has not been enhanced apropos of his present qualification.

Mr. Pinaki Bhattacharyya, learned counsel for the State, submits that the prayer of the petitioner for such higher scale of pay is pending consideration before Additional District Inspector of Schools (SE), Contai, the respondent no. 4 herein and the said respondent has issued a letter bearing Memo No. 107C dated February 29, 2024 requesting the Teacher-incharge of the said school to supply the wanting documents necessary to consider the prayer of the

petitioner, he files a copy of the said letter, let it be kept with the record.

The respondent no. 4 is directed to consider and dispose of the said prayer of the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

In the event, the said respondent finds that the petitioner is entitled to the higher scale of pay as prayed for, he shall take forward steps for release of the consequential benefits in his favour as expeditiously as possible.

WPA 5257 of 2024 is thus disposed of without any order as to costs.

Since no affidavit-in-opposition has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.
