1. Report in the form of affidavit filed on behalf of the respondent no. 2 filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. The matter relates to appointment of temporary Muslim Marriage Registrar (MMR) for the newly created Kalitala Ashuti Police Station.

3. It appears that the State is yet to take a decision with regard to the appointment of MMR. The issue in question was pending consideration before the Court in WPA 14573 of 2024 in the matter of Sk. Mosibul Hassan Vs. The State of West Bengal which stood 'dismissed for default' by the Court on 10th June, 2025 and it is reported that an application for restoration is pending consideration.

4. As there is no legal bar on the part of the authority to take steps to fill up the post in question, accordingly, the authority shall take steps in the matter in accordance with law, at the earliest.

5. The writ petition stands disposed of.

6. The application for addition of party being CAN 1 of 2025 is allowed and the same stands disposed of.

7. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
