The writ petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that he has not been appointed on compassionate ground in the Assam Rifles in the Recruitment Rally held in 2019.

The provisional list was published on 22nd January, 2020 by Assam Rifles at Shillong.

The petitioner submitted his application online to Assam Rifles at Shillong. The application to be made by the petitioner was also sent from Shillong. No part of the cause of action of the petitioner has, therefore, arisen within the territorial jurisdiction of this Court.

Hence, the instant writ application is dismissed with liberty, however, reserved to the petitioner to move appropriate High Court or forum having territorial jurisdiction, on the selfsame cause of action. There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order on usual undertakings.
