Supplementary affidavit filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

The allegation against the petitioner is of cheating and forging document. It is alleged that the petitioner extracted substantial sums of money from the defactocomplainant by promising her to get a job in the corporate sector. A purported appointment letter was also handed over to the defacto-complainant. That letter turned out to be fake. This is the crux of the allegation against the petitioner. We have seen the material in the Case Diary including the statement of the victim. We also find from the supplementary affidavit filed in Court today that the petitioner alleges that he has also been cheated by a person, who is the same person who helped the petitioner to get the appointment letter. It is not a little surprising that while filing the petition for anticipatory bail, the petitioner did not remember that he had also been cheated. He had to bring that alleged fact on record by filing a supplementary affidavit.

Further, it is strange that the petitioner has not filed any complaint against the person who cheated him. Having considered the material in the Case Diary and the overall facts and circumstances of the case, we are of the view that this is not a fit case where we should extend the benefit of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. The application for anticipatory bail being CRM 2226 of 2021 is, thus, dismissed.
